Systems Engineer
Description
- Collaborate with operations and development teams to identify testing needs and develop test plans
- Triage reported operational issues
- Perform daily monitoring of Tier 1 application health and status metrics
- Report issues detected during testing or system usage via the ticketing system
- Perform system and application installations, upgrades and production system security patching
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency
- Provide operational support and/or training to users
- Monitor and respond to application-related Jira Service Desk tickets
- Occasionally respond to mission-critical after-hours calls
- Participate in minor CONUS/OCONUS travel (~1–2 times per year)
Requirements for your new career…
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
- 10 years of experience in systems engineering
- Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky 8/9)
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions in AWS environments
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues spanning multiple technology domains and environments
- Experience administering and optimizing AWS services including computing, networking, storage, identity management, monitoring, and backup/recovery capabilities
- Experience with Grafana
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience providing customer support through Jira Service Desk
