SENIOR TAX ADVISOR

Your tasks at a glance 

Indirect tax compliance (CDN & US) & Income tax compliance (CDN)

  • You research and analyze tax issues relating to transactions, determine tax obligations and provide recommendations that will benefit the Group. 
  • You assist in the preparation and filing of Canadian tax returns (T2, T-5013) including prescribed filings (T5, T-1134, T-106, NR-4). 
  • You design and streamline internal processes to ensure compliance. 
  • You review tax forms and tax returns.
  • You contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes as well as ensuring the accounting system is configured accurately to accommodate the variety of transactions within the organization.
  • You manage tax audits and collaborate with tax authorities. 
  • You evaluate U.S. state tax obligations and handle state and local tax issues (SALT).  
  • You collaborate with external tax counsel regarding special mandates. 
  • You stay up to date on changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess and communicate these and their potential impacts to management.

A clear view of your assets 

  • You have a professional accounting designation (CPA) with a master’s degree in taxation.
  • You have a minimum of 6 years of experience in indirect and corporate tax compliance.
  • You are specialized in tax (CPA Canada In-Depth GST/HST Program).
  • You have strong planning and execution skills.
  • You are an excellent team player with solid business judgment and initiative.
  • You are proficient with Tax Prep, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point). 
  • You are fluent in French and can also communicate in English, enabling you to interact with unilingual English-speaking colleagues outside Quebec and with the tax authorities outside Quebec.
