This position
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in the delivery of activity that will drive the next phase of our business growth. This role will assist us in changing our pipeline and delivery processes from current legacy processes to an automated development and delivery. Our aim is to enable us to pipeline our environments from development right through to production with a high degree of automation, resilience, and efficiency.
A key role of the Senior DevOps Engineer will be to advise on the processes and tools that will be used. For the purposes of understanding we are considering or using today: AWS, GCP, Ansible, Ubuntu, Git, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Helm, Boto3, Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes, Packer, CloudFormation, Terraform, Vagrant, SonarQube and Nexus.
Responsibilities
- Automating SaaS workloads across a variety of cloud providers
- Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
- Test and improve implemented designs.
- Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
- Handle infrastructure & code deployments in all environments
- Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve in terms of performance and cost.
- Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
- Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards.
- Manage CI and CD tools
- Document and design processes; update existing processes.
- Improve infrastructure and application deployment.
- Work with InfoSec to harden production platforms.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing Kubernetes/Docker clusters
- Experience with cloud deployment environments such as GCP/AWS/etc.
- Experience with git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with automation/configuration management.
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
- Experience in microservice deployment and REST-APIs.
- A strong understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Experience in SQL/NOSQL is desired.
- Experience working on datacentre to cloud migrations is beneficial.
- Experience with GitOps tooling (FluxCD, ArgoCD, JenkinsX) is desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a DevOps role.
