This Position

VikingCloud is looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Associate Account Manager to join our SMB client growth team. In this early-career, farmer-style role, you’ll focus on supporting a high volume of SMB accounts through contract renewals, product upsells, and client relationship management.

You’ll develop core account management skills, learn how to identify and act on expansion opportunities, and work with a team of experienced sales and client success professionals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume portfolio of SMB clients, ensuring timely contract renewals and identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional VikingCloud services.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned accounts, focusing on satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Respond to inbound client questions related to renewals, contract terms, pricing, and available services.
  • Support client education efforts by guiding customers on best practices and solutions that align with their business needs.
  • Collaborate with Delivery/Operations, Billing, Product, and Support teams to resolve issues and ensure a smooth renewal process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce.com, including renewal dates, client communications, and opportunity tracking.
  • Assist in preparing renewal quotes and simple upsell proposals based on client needs and VikingCloud offerings.
  • Meet and exceed renewal rate targets and SMB account growth KPIs.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to compliance (PCI DSS), cybersecurity, SaaS, or managed services environments is a plus.
  • Experience supporting customers in the SMB segment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce dashboards, reports, and forecasting tools is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in account management, sales support, customer success, or a related client-facing role (internship experience considered).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—able to build trust and rapport with small business owners and IT stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage a large volume of accounts and deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of value-based selling principles and a desire to grow sales and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com or other CRM systems (or quick learner).
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
