This Position

 

We have an immediate vacancy for a specified purpose contract for the purposes of maternity cover. The requirement is for an experienced in-house commercial contracts counsel to join our international legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel in Dublin, Ireland, the role will be remote from Ireland or the UK. This is predominantly a commercial contracts role and is a critical role within the organisation. In addition to commercial contracts,  the right candidate will be capable of dealing with a wide range of international legal matters and of working alongside all parts of the business.

 

Responsibilities 

  • The main responsibility is to work closely with our sales organisation in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on bespoke contracts for all types of commercial transactions including but not limited to: master service agreements; statements of work; NDAs; software licenses; support and maintenance agreements; SaaS agreements; service level agreements; and vendor agreements.
  • Experience of data protection matters is desirable so the right candidate can advise on data protection issues and work with our data protection team in relation to such matters.
  • Advise on employment law issues and work closely with our HR team on such matters.
  • Work with external advisers and internal business partners on protecting the group’s IP.
  • Deal with legal issues arising on a day-to-day basis as part of the group’s business and operations.
  • Provide legal support to a variety of departments across the group including: sales; engineering; operations; product; IT; marketing; HR; finance; and relationship management.
  • Develop/advise on strategies for contracting with customers and suppliers that maximise contractual benefits and minimize risk.
  • Assist with the group’s international entity filings and other corporate governance matters.
  • Liaise with third-parties as required including: customers; suppliers; insurers; and external advisers, both Irish and international, legal and otherwise.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Counsel (based in Ireland) and the wider global legal team as may be required.

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Be qualified to practice law in Ireland or the UK.
  • In addition to commercial contracts experience, the right candidate will also have experience with data protection, employment, and intellectual property law.
  • The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 5 years’ in-house experience.
  • In line with the flexible and progressive nature of the business, you will be a dynamic, ambitious individual with experience of supporting sales teams, who enjoys working in a challenging and fast paced environment, and who is willing to take on whatever crosses your desk.
  • Be capable of dealing with a wide range of international matters and working alongside all parts of the organisation and external advisers (legal and otherwise).
  • Proven experience of working across multiple functions and at all levels in a global organisation.
  • International experience desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate risks against applicable business goals to provide practical legal advice.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent commercial acumen.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process changes.
