Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment. Perform duties in such a manner as to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the facility and the continuation of Victaulic Company as a clean and safe place of employment.
- Oversee production.
- Drive quality throughout the production process. Develop and achieve production plans to produce products that meet specifications and are delivered on time.
- Manage the production process in a designated area through production supervision.
- Develop and maintain an adequate workforce trained to meet the production plan.
- Control cost per unit by ensuring hourly production rates are achieved and scrap rates are minimized.
Oversee Production:
- Set production goals and ensure efficient production scheduling to meet production goals.
- Promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Motivate, support, coach, and provide guidance to production supervisors and production staff to create effective teams and efficient shift production.
- Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
- Manage the collection and reporting of production data to support reports as required by the Plant Manager.
- Participate in and utilize the Quality Improvement Process in the performance of duties.
- Actively participate in Company programs and initiatives designed to improve workplace efficiency, eliminate waste, and improve quality.
- Develop new workflow policies/procedures that will improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Troubleshoot issues with machining or assembly.
- Work with product development engineers to improve product processes.
- Investigate and implement new processes and technologies.
- Prepare specifications for process and manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain a strong liaison with design engineering staff to ensure that design for manufacturing ability concerns are expressed and evaluated.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and labor laws.
- Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times (ex. safety glasses, and steel toe shoes). Safety equipment is provided by the Company with exception of steel toe shoes, which must be provided by employee upon the first day of employment.
- Employees must be willing to work in excess of 8 hours in one shift.
- Overtime: Employees must be willing and available to work weekends on an on-going basis if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Degree preferred in Engineering, Business Management, Production Operations, or related field of study.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing in a manufacturing setting with machines and assembly processing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, etc.
- Understanding of financial reporting statements and concepts.
- Understanding of materials management principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
- Familiar with applicable regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ADA.
