Benefits Coordinator
The Benefits Coordinator serves as a resource for employee benefit inquiries and supports the administration of all benefit programs. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate data within Workday, processing enrollments and changes, assisting with the development and distribution of benefit communications, and promoting employee understanding and engagement in the company’s health and wellness programs.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Benefit Administration & Employee Support
    • Administer and communicate benefit programs, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, and voluntary benefits.
    • Process and maintain enrollment within the Workday system, including new hire enrollments, changes, and terminations, as well as employee file administration.
    • Counsel employees on benefit plan details and policies, providing education and support through written communications, forms, and one-on-one assistance.
    • Manage invoice processing and reconciliation for benefit vendors.
    • Serve as a liaison with insurance carriers regarding plan details, eligibility, and employee inquiries.
  • Communications & Engagement
    • Maintain the Benefits Intranet and other employee-facing communications to ensure accurate, and engaging content.
    • Assist in developing clear benefits communications to support engagement and understanding.
    • Coordinate and support new hire orientation as well as the annual open enrollment process.
  • Health Promotion & Wellness
    • Plan, promote, and lead education initiatives to support employee wellness.
    • Collaborate to develop communications that increase awareness and participation in health and wellness programs.
    • Support wellness program and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Technology & Process Transformation
    • Act as a change agent in transitioning hourly employees from paper-based processes to self-service functionality within Workday for benefit enrollment.
    • Provide guidance, training, and communication to employees with self-service adoption to improve the user experience during open enrollment and throughout the year.
Qualifications
  • HRIS experience – Workday preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 2 to 5 years Benefits Administration experience
  • College degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of employees, retirees, and external partners.
