Lead Veterinarian – Full Time

Kew Vet & Cattery have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced vet wanting to progress their career.

Sadly, one of our long-term team members is making a move to work closer to family, so we are looking for an experienced Veterinarian with excellent communication skills and a desire to lead. This opportunity will allow you to practice great medicine and surgery while also growing your leadership and business management skills.

With our onsite People and Culture Manager and Business Operations Manager, you will have plenty of support, so this role is open to both experienced and emerging leaders.

A bit about us & the role:

  • Working with a team of 3 other vets (including membership holders), you have all the benefits of a close team, but with two other clinics nearby. (Hawthorn East Vet and Alphington & Fairfield Vet)
  • You will lead the daily operations of the clinic and as part of the leadership team will be actively involved in decision making and planning for the business.
  • You will be exposed to a diverse caseload with clients willing and able to work cases up.
  • We offer AVA Memberships, Practice CVE and VIN Memberships with a generous CPD allowance annually.
  • We are family friendly and promote diversity in our teams.
  • We provide access to specific leadership training.
  • We hold regular clinic meetings as well as vet team meetings, giving you the opportunity to present new ideas, products, or standards of care.
  • Minimal Sunday or Public Holiday work is required.

About you

  • You have at least five years’ experience and a thirst to continue learning and developing.
  • You possess the confidence and skill set to provide training to associates within your team.
  • You have a supportive disposition and willingness to guide, encourage and mentor fellow team members.
  • You like sharing your skills and knowledge and get joy from helping your colleagues develop professionally.
  • You enjoy the intricacies and inner workings of Veterinary Practice, including planning & development.
  • You have the ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You enjoy building rapport with clients and aim to foster ongoing community relationships.
  • You are an advocate for high quality care and love to deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • You have a passion for positive workplace culture.
  • As a leader, you aim to inspire the team via action and role modeling.

Remuneration is above award and commensurate with experience.
