Your New Chapter
At VetPartners, we pride ourselves on delivering shared services support that drives success for our veterinary clinics. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and execute payments, including electronic transfers and checks, on a scheduled basis.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Support month-end closing by reconciling accounts payable to the general ledger and preparing relevant reports.
  • Maintain organised records and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience:

Essential Skills:
  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team interactions
Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Experience in process improvement and streamlining accounts payable workflows
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A certificate or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field
