We are looking for a passionate and experienced Surgical Veterinary Nurse to join our growing Surgery team on a full-time basis (part-time considered for the right candidate).

Our Surgery department works closely with our Emergency and Internal Medicine teams and includes a VTS Anaesthesia Nurse, specialty-trained perioperative nurses and rotating interns, creating a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced referral setting, enjoys hands-on surgical nursing, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

About the Role

Our Surgery Nurses play a key role in the daily running of the surgical service, including:

  • Assisting with a wide range of specialist surgical procedures

  • Preparing and monitoring patients for anaesthesia and recovery

  • Assisting with CT, radiography and diagnostic procedures

  • Providing high-quality pre- and post-operative patient care

  • Communicating with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care

  • Supporting clients with clear communication and compassionate care

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong surgical nursing skills and patient care experience

  • Works well both independently and as part of a team

  • Is highly organised with excellent time management

  • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy and great communication

  • Has experience with anaesthesia monitoring and care of critical patients

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technician degree

  • Has minimum 4 years’ experience in veterinary nursing

Previous referral or specialist surgical experience is desirable but not essential.
