You've built a strong foundation in general practice. Now you're ready to immerse yourself in specialist medicine, work alongside experienced clinicians, and take the next step towards a career in Internal Medicine.

As our Internal Medicine service continues to grow, North Shore Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian to join our team as an Internal Medicine Intern.

About Us 

North Shore Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre provide leading specialist care 24/7, with specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, anaesthesia, dermatology and exotics, alongside a progressive general practice.

Our state-of-the-art facility, fitted out with the latest equipment, including:

• Complete in-house laboratory (biochemistry, haematology and blood gas)
• Comprehensive diagnostic imaging — two ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, a 128-slice GE CT scanner and a Siemens 1.5T MRI
• Multiple mechanical ventilators
• Fluoroscopy and endoscopy
• Three fully equipped operating theatres
• In-house blood bank
• Dedicated ICU with cot beds and oxygen cages

The Opportunity 

As our Internal Medicine Intern, you'll work closely with our specialist team, gaining hands-on experience and assisting with a diverse referral medicine caseload.

This 12-month internship offers mentorship, and the opportunity to prepare for ANZCVS Membership examinations while building a strong foundation for future specialist training.

This role is ideal for a veterinarian who:

• Has at least 12 months of clinical experience in small animal practice
• Is eligible for veterinary registration in New South Wales
• Is considering ANZCVS Membership and future Internal Medicine residency training
• Enjoys working collaboratively and thrives in a supportive learning environment
• Is committed to providing exceptional patient and client care
