Vineyard Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Small Animal Veterinarian to join — and help guide — our friendly, collaborative team on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Clinic Overview:
  • Established, trusted practice serving the community since the early 1980s

  • Many nurses have been with us 5+ years
  • All nurses are fully qualified, with ongoing TAFE support if required
  • We proactively support nurses nearing completion of their qualifications

You’ll enjoy a diverse and rewarding caseload including:
  • Consulting and building strong client relationships
  • Performing routine and advanced surgeries (including soft tissue and orthopaedics)
  • Working up cases with advanced diagnostics
  • Preventative health and wellness care
  • Emergency and urgent case management
  • Collaborating closely with skilled nurses and fellow vets
  • Maintaining high-quality clinical records
Facilities & Workflow:
  • Clinic hours: 8:00am – 12:00pm consults
  • Afternoon surgical block
  • Approximately 12 consults per vet per day when fully booked
  • 4 consult rooms for efficient workflow
  • Advanced equipment including:
  • MyLab X8 high-tech ultrasound machine
  • Digital X-ray with cloud-based imaging
  • Some cases referred to emergency centres after-hours
  • IVF and reproductive work performed on-site
After-Hours & On-Call:
  • Mostly phone advice with occasional procedures (e.g. caesareans)
  • On-call roster: approx. 1 night per week (pager system)
  • Vet takes phone home for triage
  • Paid after-hours work, including:
    • Call-out fee
    • 40–50% of professional consult fee per case
  • Caesareans can be frequent and financially rewarding

About You:
  • BVSc (or equivalent) with NSW registration (or eligibility)
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in small animal practice
  • Confident in both consulting and surgery
  • Strong communicator and team player
  • Passionate about high-quality patient care and client relationships
