Riverbank Animal Hospital has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced small animal veterinarian to work in our popular three vet regional practice.  

Whilst we love our workplace, we know how important work-life balance is! We can accommodate interest in part-time or full-time hours and would be willing to consider family friendly hours.    

Here’s a glimpse of your new lifestyle … We are situated in the beautiful township of Grafton in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. There is a strong community feel to the town with regular markets, theatre shows, and music events. We have excellent sporting facilities and many special interest social clubs. Each year, the town hosts the Jacaranda festival where the jacaranda-lined streets and parks burst into spectacular display.    

The town offers affordable housing with large backyards, local primary and secondary schools, great coffee, yummy pub meals and beautiful sunsets over the gorgeous Clarence River. Bring yourself or bring the whole family.   

A nature-lovers dream, the Clarence valley has much to offer! Sail/kayak/ski the mighty Clarence. Explore the many national parks that border the town which are home to magnificent waterfalls, mountain bike and bushwalking trails, and campgrounds. If you enjoy the ocean, we are located within an hour’s drive of many beautiful beaches and there is fantastic snorkelling and diving in the temperate-tropical waters.

A little bit about us:    

• We are a large, purpose-built hospital, with three consulting rooms, spacious treatment room including wet prep area, two theatres, and separate dog, cat, and isolation wards.  The building has main street frontage and private rear parking. 
• We’re a fun, friendly, supportive bunch of three vets and five experienced nurses and pride ourselves on our high standards of care and local reputation. 
• We take a team-based approach to medicine and surgery and there is plenty of scope to bring your interests or ideas. We have excellent workflow and all the equipment and tools you need, including in-house haematology and biochemistry, IM3 dental equipment with dental radiography, digital radiography, ultrasound, tonometry and more.
• We have a varied caseload including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles, wildlife, and the occasional fish. We provide the veterinary services for The Rabbit Sanctuary, which will suit anyone with a special interest in rabbits!
• Our shifts are generally between 8:00-17:30 across 3-4 days per week. The practice offers shared paid after hours including a 4-hour Saturday shift on a 1:3 basis to support our close community.  
• We encourage your interests and areas of expertise, have in-clinic VIN access, offer generous CPD allowance and study leave as well as online learning and free access to our veterinary training centres.
