The Role: 

Join the Southpaws team as a Lead Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Night Nurse at our 24-hour emergency pet hospital in Malvern East. We understand that emergencies can happen anytime, and we need skilled ECC Nurses to provide expert care during these critical moments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the ECC night shift team, ensuring high standards of care.

  • Provide immediate and exceptional emergency care to pets.

  • Mentor and support ECC staff, fostering their professional development.

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Department to ensure seamless communication between night and day teams.

  • Liaise with the day team on behalf of night staff, addressing any concerns and ensuring continuity of care.

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Certificate IV or equivalent qualification with ideally 2-3 years of ECC experience.

  • A professional and positive demeanour.

  • Ability to lead a team and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong mentoring skills and a commitment to staff development.

  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with day teams and leadership.
