About the Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key leadership role in the clinic, supporting both clinical excellence and team development. You will work closely with veterinarians and nursing staff to ensure smooth daily operations and the highest standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting the veterinary nursing team in day-to-day clinical operations

  • Assisting veterinarians with consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures

  • Overseeing anaesthetic monitoring and inpatient nursing care

  • Coordinating workflow, rostering support, and clinical standards

  • Mentoring and training junior nurses and new team members

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, organisation, and patient care

  • Supporting client communication, education, and hospital management systems

  • Assisting with inventory, ordering, and clinical supplies as required

About You

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in veterinary nursing (leadership experience highly regarded)

  • Confident, calm, and capable in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and high clinical standards

  • A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for animal care
