An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time or Part Time Veterinary Practice Manager to join our team at Flemington Vet Hospital for a maternity leave cover from now to March 2025.  Flemington Vet Hospital.  Flemington is an inner-city suburb, 5kms from the Melbourne CBD. The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-level patient care, alongside the ability to develop great working relationships.

Our aim is to provide a friendly work environment with an emphasis on high standards of care and continuing education.  Our practice is a GOLD standard cat friendly clinic accredited by the international Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM)

You will be supported by a team of highly trained and enthusiastic nurses and reception staff, an amazing vet team with a great clientele and operate in a uprose built clinic.

Key responsibilities:
  • People and Operational Leadership
    • Lead the Clinic Team in partnership with the Lead Vet and if applicable by advocating for our VetPartners core values and encouraging a positive culture of accountability, empathy, and openness.
    • Manage recruitment in partnership with the Lead Vet, Regional Manager, Head Nurse, and recruitment team.
    • Supports Team members through development and retention by providing regular and timely feedback, implementing, and monitoring career development plans, and conducting regular performance reviews.
    • Develops and maintains an understanding of VetPartners Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures and ensures these practices are embedded within the clinic.
  • Clinic Performance and Driving Sustainability
    • Actively champions clinic budgeting and strategic planning with Regional Manager and Lead Vet
    • Demonstrate balanced decision making with consideration of both clinical and commercial outcomes.
  • Client Experience
    • Drives a customer-focused culture and demonstrates and reinforces the highest level of customer service with all team members.
    • Effectively communicate and consult with clients, vets, and team members on all enquiries, including complaints, grief support, reminders, and procedure follow-ups.
Who you are:
  • Experience in practice management within the veterinary field highly desirable. Open to out of industry applications.  Nursing experience a bonus.  Maybe you are ready to take the next step.

  • Excellent general computer literacy
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine love for animals and their people.
