VetPartners Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Veterinary Surgery Nurse, Emergency and Critical Care Nurse, and General Practice Nurse to join our boutique emergency referral and general practice hospital centrally located in the heart of Sydney. NSVS&EC is a leading specialist care 24/7, 365 days a year. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic & experienced Nurses to join our growing team on a Full-Time basis.
About the job:
 
Our Surgery Nurse, Emergency and Critical Care Nurse, and General Practice Nurse are responsible for assisting with assessment of patients, planning the day for patients while liaising with the clinician in charge and other services.
 
Some responsibilities include setting up for and assisting in a range of specialist surgical procedures, CT, radiography, charting and more. Additionally, applying clinical nursing skills including routine anaesthetic and post-op recovery monitoring; blood draw and keeping clients informed and happy providing advice, answering questions and soothing their fears is a big part of the job. As well as, but not limited to, blood transfusion therapy, mechanical ventilation, advanced catheterisation techniques (central, PICC and arterial), advanced monitoring, and triage/stabilisation of the emergency patient.
 
About you:
  • To be suitable for this role you need to hold a minimum Certificate III or IV qualification.
  • You are an established Veterinary Surgery Nurse, ECC Nurse, or GP nurse with at least 3 years of employment experience.
  • Apply and adapt your clinical nursing skills to a surgery, emergency and critical care, or general practice focused caseload.
  • Work as an integral part of the team in contributing to and partaking in continuing professional development.
  • Excellent small-animal handling skills and passionate about providing exceptional patient and client care.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that exhibits professionalism, excellent customer service and empathy for our clients who are often facing difficult situations.
  • Willingness to work a rotating roster Monday – Saturday with some weekday and weekend shifts. Working some public holidays is a requirement of the position.
