About us:

Perth Veterinary Specialists (PVS) is one of Western Australia’s longest established and largest private specialist veterinary practices. PVS is a state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary hospital with services including surgery, anaesthesia, medicine, oncology, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, and an after-hours emergency service under the guidance of two critical care specialists. This highly equipped facility, in conjunction with our exceptional and experienced staff, allows us to provide excellent patient care day and night. To remain at the edge of veterinary medicine, we are currently in the process of building a new state of the art hospital. Perth is Australia’s sunniest capital city, and is full of natural beauty, with idyllic and untouched beach coastline with easy access to renowned regions like Rottnest Island and Margaret River.

The Opportunity:

There is an exciting opportunity to help establish the advanced imaging department in PVS
alongside the diagnostic imaging team. Currently the team is made of 2 ACVR diplomates, 2 radiographers, 2 dedicated advanced imaging nurses and a rotating intern. As a radiologist, you would oversee and report the full range of diagnostic imaging modalities (sonography, digital radiology, multidetector computed tomography and high-field magnetic resonance
imaging).

The future of the imaging department includes but is not limited to:

•
A new high-field MRI, advanced 3D modelling software, 3D printing and
interventional radiology.
An emerging diagnostic imaging mentorship program. Currently involving a group of
rotating interns and with a long-term goal to establish a residency program.
You tell us! – we are looking for someone to encourage continued advancement of
our imaging department and the PVS team.

The benefits:

•
Above average renumeration package for suitably qualified imaging specialists
Flexibility in roster and caseload
5 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks study leave per year (one week to attend a
conference and another week to present)
Positions may be part time or full time, with opportunity to maintain a teleradiology
contract if desired.
Support with visa application, Australian Veterinary Registration and provide you with tailored relocation support to suit your situation.
Benefits of the unique Perth lifestyle – think beaches, wine country and Quokkas
