Description
VetPartners Australia is looking to fill the role of a Veterinarian (Emergency and Critical Care Specialist/Criticalist). As the North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre grows, we are dedicated to having a full time ECC Criticalist join our existing team of specialists.
The Hospital
North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre is one of 280+ GP Clinics and Specialty Hospitals within the VetPartners network across Australia and New Zealand. The referral hospital is multidisciplinary with referral services in surgery and internal medicine, as such there is a high out of hours caseload which feeds the ECC referral team.
Available services include:
*Anaesthesia
*Diagnostic imaging
*Growing oncology service
*Dentistry and exotics referral services on-site
*Ophthalmological service in adjacent building
*Purpose built MRI facility
*Specialty and Rotating interns, and specialty nurses to support the services
*Pet Ambulance Service
The team at NSVSC are a fantastic group of veterinary professionals – with many celebrating work anniversaries of over ten years and multiple vets coming back after specialist training or staying on board after completing their training with us. As a busy referral hospital, you will have access to the expected tools –dedicated ICU, multiple mechanical ventilators, ultrasound, CT, MRI, TEG, interventional radiology and a blood bank. We have a Veterinary Training Centre onsite and a good network with the local practices.
About you
To be successful in this role, you need to hold a relevant bachelor’s Degree or higher and have at least 3 years of employment experience.
The successful applicant would be ACVECC or ECVECC board-certified or a Fellow of the ANZCVS.
The role
The ECC department at NSVSC is growing rapidly, you will be joining a team that currently consists of one other ACVECC Criticalist, 1-3 ECC interns, rotating interns and multiple ECC-specific nurses.
You would be involved in:
*Training and supervising interns with the support of an administrative manager
*Advising the out of hours and general practice team
*Consulting on critical cases feeding from the entire hospital and our network
The location
We are located in the North Shore of Sydney which is centrally-located to everything that matters – beaches, sun and decent coffee.
Additional Benefits - $5000 study allowance, 1 week conference leave, 4-day work week
