Full-Time Head Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to join and lead our dedicated team at Vets @ Acacia Gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident nurse who is passionate about clinical excellence, team leadership, and providing outstanding patient and client care in a supportive general practice environment. 

About the Role 

As Head Vet Nurse, you will play a key leadership role in the daily running of the clinic, supporting both clinical and non-clinical operations. You will work closely with our veterinarians and nursing team to ensure high standards of patient care, workflow efficiency, and team development. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead, support, and mentor the nursing team  

• Oversee daily clinic nursing workflows and patient care standards  

• Coordinate surgical and hospitalised patient management  

• Ensure best-practice anaesthesia monitoring and peri-operative care  

• Maintain inventory, ordering, and stock control systems  

• Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance support  

• Collaborate with vets to improve clinical protocols and efficiency  

• Deliver exceptional client communication and education  

About You 

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)  

• Minimum 3–5 years’ clinical experience (leadership experience highly regarded)  

• Strong surgical and anaesthesia monitoring skills  

• Confident in mentoring and supporting a team  

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities  

• Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset  

• Passionate about high-quality patient care and team culture
