Lead Veterinarian (12-Month Maternity Leave Cover) – MyVet Springfield Lakes | QLD

MyVet Springfield Lakes is seeking an experienced and confident Lead Veterinarian to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, commencing August 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a supportive, community-focused clinic, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive and collaborative culture.

The clinic is well-equipped to support a high standard of care, including:

• Digital radiology and dental radiography
• Ultrasound
• In-house laboratory
• Fully equipped dental suite

We offer a wide range of services including general practice, surgery, dentistry, imaging, and preventative care, allowing for varied and interesting caseloads.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients in close collaboration with a skilled team
• Conduct regular consultations and perform routine surgeries
• Mentor and support a new graduate Veterinarian, fostering their growth and development
• Take a leadership role in clinic operations, guiding and inspiring team members and contributing to strategic decision-making
• Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and drive efficiency, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes
• Build strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and become a valued part of the local community
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in veterinary medicine

About you

• BVSc (or equivalent) with current registration in Queensland
• 5+ years’ clinical experience, confident in both consulting and surgery
• Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a lead role
• Comfortable with sole charge (weekend roster)
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards of patient care
• Passion for mentoring and supporting junior veterinarians
• A collaborative and positive approach to team culture
