North Shore Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is a boutique referral hospital centrally located in the heart of Sydney, providing leading specialist care 24/7, 365 days a year.

 

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Small Animal Specialist Surgeon to join our growing team on a part-time or full-time basis.

 

The team:

The dedicated surgical department currently consists of an experienced Surgical specialist, full time Anaesthetist, VTS anaesthetic nurse, specialty trained perioperative nurses, rotating interns as well as collaboration with our other specialist departments, including post operative patient care from our Criticalist and VTS ECC nurse.

 

The facilities:

Our brand-new state-of-the-art facility offers:

  • Four custom designed surgical theatres
  • Fluoroscopic studies that can either be performed in our theatres or within our radiology suite
  • Comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities
  • Dedicated diagnostic imaging department including two ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, and a Siemen 1.5T MRI facility
  • Our imaging facilities have been purposed designed and associated with a 5th theatre design for minimally invasive procedure.  

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will provide a specialist referral surgical service to our referring clinics from across Sydney and NSW. We aim for clinical excellence within a working environment that promotes and encourages collegiality and communication. 

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified small animal specialist surgeon, having achieved diplomate or equivalent status (ACVS/ECVS/FANZCVS). Applications from residency trained candidates will also be considered.
