THE HOSPITAL:

Better Pet Vets is looking for a fabulous locum vet to join our fun, happy and close-knit team, of skilled veterinarians, nurses, and receptionists in Mackay, Queensland.

Only a short 90-minute drive to beautiful Airlie Beach and the award-winning Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef, Mackay is a fantastic place to live and work. 

We are looking for support specifically in the new year, starting from January, and also looking for some Easter coverage in April. The ideal candidate would commit to a minimum 4-week working block, spanning up to 5 months.

THE DETAILS:

• Full time: Mon-Fri (8am-6pm), some weekend work (Sat (8am-4pm) & Sun (9am-4pm)
• Some after-hours work required (till 9pm), triaged through Medechat first.
• On-call allowance/after-hours remuneration, 1 night p/w, 1 weekend per month.
• Travel/accommodation allowance/assistance available (includes mileage)
• Small animal only, no sole charge.
• Public holiday work.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for the position you must be able to demonstrate:

• A minimum of 2 -3 years PQE as a GP Veterinarian.
• Ability to handle a mixed caseload of Medical and Surgical would be highly regarded.
