Part Time Experienced Nurse

Annandale Animal Hospital is looking for a qualified and experienced Part time Veterinary Nurse. We are offering flexible work days with 3x 10hr shifts per week promoting a positive work life balance. Weekends is not necessary but if wanted, we are offering 1 in 4 weekend rotations. 

Annandale Animal Hospital is located in the Inner West of Sydney, and is a busy 6 vet practice providing excellent care to all our patients and clients. We are able to offer a supportive friendly environment and opportunities to further your education/ skills. Our large 35-person team is a family of animal attendants, receptionists, nurses, vets and management who work together in a respectful and cohesive manner. It truly is a workplace of friends and we are hoping to find someone to fit in the great team we already have   

What we are looking for:   

Due to a high and sometimes complex case load we are looking for an experienced, hands-on nurse that is ready to jump in and apply their knowledge and skills.   

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a minimum of 3 years full time experience.

  • A high standard of Surgical and medical skills. Sound knowledge of RX Works

  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues.

  • The ability to work both independently or as a team. The ability to clean and maintain a hygienic hospital environment.

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Be friendly, have an easy-going nature with a strong work ethic

Skills required:   

  • Performing nurse consults, dental checks, suture removal, arthritis injections etc.

  • Confidently perform surgical admissions and discharges

  • Ability to confidently perform TPR’s, IV catheter placement, blood collections, in-house pathology, cytology and radiology.

  • The ability to do drug and CRI calculations, capable of administering, intubating and monitoring anaesthetics in dogs and cats.

  • Experience in nursing unwell and complex medical cases.
