A fabulous opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Veterinarian to join our busy 4 Vet Practice in Toowoomba. We are a friendly and tight-knit team who take our work seriously but don’t take ourselves too seriously!
Established in 1947, Toowoomba Veterinary Hospital has been providing quality care to the animals of Toowoomba for over 65 years and our Vets have more than 100 years combined veterinary experience. Today we offer gold standard care to our patients and the latest in facilities including state of the art surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound, and modern consulting rooms. We have a strong, well-established client base, focusing primarily on small animal practice with some exotics and large animals.
This opportunity would suit a confident and experienced Veterinarian looking to step into a Lead Vet position where they can mentor and support a close-knit team, work collaboratively with management, and help drive high standards of patient care and clinical excellence within the clinic.
What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
As a Small Animal Veterinarian with us, no two days are the same. Your role will include:
- Managing a varied caseload across both medicine and surgery
- Mentoring, training, and supporting the GP veterinary team
- Undertaking line management responsibilities, including performance management and professional development
- Supporting the training and development of nursing and support teams
- Shaping and upholding best-practice standards in line with VetPartners advisory guidelines
- Driving clinical vision while aligning clinical priorities with business objectives
- Utilising advanced diagnostics, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory equipment
- Delivering preventative healthcare such as vaccinations, parasite control, and routine wellness checks
- Educating and supporting pet owners while building strong, trusted client relationships
- Working collaboratively with a skilled nursing team and experienced veterinary colleagues
- Confidently managing emergency and critical cases as required
- Maintaining accurate and detailed clinical records to ensure continuity of care

About You
- A qualified Veterinarian with registration (or eligibility for registration) with the QLD Veterinary Practitioners Board
- Ideally 4+ years’ experience in small animal practice (though we’re open to passionate vets at different career stages)
- A strong communicator and team player who enjoys building lasting client relationships
