At The Gables Veterinary Clinic we are a friendly, close-knit team that works hard to provide the best care possible for our patients. As a long-standing small animal vet in the Monash area, our practice requires staff who are motivated and passionate, able to work well in a team and autonomously.  Our vet nurses are essential to achieving the best possible outcome for our patients. Whether you are a new vet nurse or have years of experience, we’re excited for the right person to join our team.

Providing consultations, diagnostics, and surgeries as well as, ongoing palliative and behavioural care. We strive to help our patients lead happy and healthy lives.

What the role includes:

• Assisting veterinarians in day-to-day procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, triage and emergency treatments.
• Assisting with radiography, ultrasound and GP procedures
• Cleaning and sterilising equipment, cages, surgery and examination table
• Admission and discharge of patients
• Performing pathology and diagnostic tests
• Scheduling appointments, processing of payments and maintaining patient file information

Completion or undertaking current Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing a necessity.

Additional desired skills:

• Experience using Idexx Catalyst and Lasercyte
• Over the phone triage experience
• Ability to work confidently in high pressure or stressful situations
• Ability to confidently restrain and handle animals
• Experience working with EzyVet and Microsoft Outlook

The role will be full-time Monday through Thursday 8am – 6pm, so no on-call shifts or weekends!
