Blackburn Veterinary Centre is a vibrant, wellβestablished clinic proudly caring for the Blackburn community. Weβre a closeβknit team of 3 veterinarians and 5 support staff with a simple mission: to deliver the best of modern veterinary medicine while keeping care accessible, compassionate, and as stressβfree as possible for pets and their families. About the Role
Weβre looking for a fullβtime Veterinary Nurse to join our busy and supportive team. This is a varied, handsβon role where no two days are the same β and where your development genuinely matters.
Youβll rotate through reception, nurse consults, and surgical support, with a planned roster so you always know what youβre doing. If thereβs a particular area you love or want to grow in, weβll roster you to build those skills.
Beyond dayβtoβday learning, youβll also have access to practical training programs, helping you continue to grow your skills both inside and outside the clinic.
What youβll be doing:
β’ Supporting veterinarians across surgery, anaesthesia, and patient care
β’ Assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring everything is prepared and running smoothly
β’ Monitoring patients preβ and postβoperatively and providing highβquality nursing care
β’ Running nurse consults and supporting clients with empathy and clear communication
β’ Reception duties including booking appointments, assisting clients, and managing enquiries
β’ Keeping the clinic organised and ensuring backβofβhouse operations run efficiently
β’ Working a rotating roster including some weekends
What Weβre Looking For
β’ Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
β’ Around 4+ years of clinical experience as a veterinary nurse
β’ Confident supporting vets across surgery and busy consult days
β’ Organised, proactive, and able to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes
β’ A genuine eagerness to learn, improve, and grow your skills
β’ Warm, professional communication with clients and teammates
β’ A teamβfirst attitude and calm approach in a busy clinic environment
