Veterinary Nurse Surgical Team Leader – Full Time – Dromana

Are you passionate about patient care and people? Do you enjoy coordinating a successful team? We have a full-time position at our Dromana hospital, consisting of 4 weekday shifts and a 1 in 4 full weekend rotation.

Peninsula Vet Care is a group of five operated veterinary hospitals combined with an emergency and referral centre on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

We are currently looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to work closely with our clinic manager and Client Services Area Leader to oversee the day to day running of our surgery team and provide training and mentoring to our junior nurses. Additional support and mentorship is provided by our Nurse Educator and networking with group Area Leaders across our clinics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Train and mentor junior nurses in line with training plans developed by the Nurse Educator & Clinic Manager
  • Monitor compliance with company standards of care
  • Monitor customer service standards
  • Manage day plans
  • Coordinate and allocate staff to various tasks to ensure clinic plans are met
  • Identify operational issues and make recommendations to resolve

Our ideal candidate is someone who has:

  • A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a veterinary nurse
  • A desire to provide and uphold a high standard of patient and client care
  • A passion for training and development
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and organisational skills
