Mackay Veterinary Hospital is looking for a vibrant new clinic director to join our friendly team in Mackay, North Queensland. We have a large team of highly qualified vets, with over 115 years of combined experience, supported by several dedicated nurses and long term practice manager.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, helpful customer service and gold standard patient care and advice. Mackay Veterinary Hospital has been established for over 40 years, servicing a large number of long term clients. We are well respected in the community.
We are looking for a full-time Veterinarian who shares the same values, has a friendly and positive attitude, is a team player and has excellent communication skills.
What we can offer you:
- Generous salary of $110k - $120k + superannuation.
- Guaranteed 2% pay increase on base salary upon completion of 6 month probation period.
- Guaranteed $1,000 bonus after 1 year of fulltime employment.
- Guaranteed $1,500 bonus after 2 years of fulltime employment.

- Relocation allowance to assist with flights, removalists/visas, temporary accommodation, quarantine.
- 76 hour fortnight with 1 in 3 weekends. M-F 8am to 6pm, Sat 8am to 11am, Sun 9am -10am. Great work life balance!
- NO after hours or on-call.
- Consultations by appointment only.
- Leadership training provided.
- Experience a wide and varied case load of medical and surgical small animal cases.
- Our purpose built and veterinarian designed clinic is equipped with all the usual toys including digital x-ray and digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, in house laboratory and orthopaedic equipment.
- Specialists have regular visits at Mackay Veterinary Hospital throughout the year allowing exposure to areas of advanced vet practice including orthopaedics, ophthalmology and dermatology.
- Plenty of opportunity to pursue areas of special interest, as well as support and opportunities to learn from our experienced Vets.
- Continuing education is encouraged and financially supported.
What you can offer us:
- A minimum of 5 years veterinary experience
- BVS or equivalent, NAVLE registration , Qld registration
- Clinical support for our team, graduate vet development
- A commitment to provide exceptional patient care
- Ability to oversee the caseload and work autonomously
- Exceptional communication and client relationship building skills
