Patient Transport Attendant / Ambulance Driver

North Shore Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate and reliable Driver to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will provide safe, professional transport for veterinary patients travelling between referring clinics and our specialist emergency hospital, while also supporting our clinical team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse (dependent on experience and qualifications).

This is more than driving — you’ll be a vital part of the patient care journey. You’ll help ensure animals are transported safely, calmly and comfortably while supporting our veterinary and nursing teams with patient care, communication and seamless handovers.

In this role, you’ll:

• Safely transport patients between veterinary clinics and our hospital
• Assist with patient handling, loading and unloading
• Monitor patient comfort and welfare during transport
• Work closely with veterinary nurses, specialists and referring clinics
• Maintain our ambulance to the highest standards of cleanliness and readiness
• Support the hospital team as an Animal Attendant or Veterinary Nurse, depending on your level of experience
• Assist with animal care duties within the clinic environment

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A current open driver’s licence
• Confidence handling animals of different sizes and temperaments
• A calm, caring and professional approach
• Strong attention to detail and a team-focused attitude
• A genuine commitment to animal welfare
• Experience in a veterinary, animal care, animal handling or healthcare environment (highly regarded)
• Veterinary nursing qualifications or experience (desirable but not essential)
