Perth Veterinary Specialists (PVS) are one of Western Australia’s most established and largest specialist veterinary practice with specialists and/or registrars in oncology, medicine, anaesthesia, surgery, dermatology, diagnostic imaging and an after-hours emergency service.

The Surgery Department

Our surgical department is known for its collaborative and supportive team, committed to collegiality and delivering exceptional patient care. The team includes an experienced Surgical Specialist, a Surgical Registrar, specialty-trained nurses, rotating interns, and support from our other specialist departments.

Our state-of-the-art facility includes:

  • Specialist-led diagnostic imaging suite (digital radiography, CT, MRI)

  • Electrosurgical equipment

  • Arthroscopy

  • Endoscopy

  • Electrochemotherapy

  • Access to radiation oncology

The Role

As a Small Animal Surgery Specialist, you will provide a comprehensive specialist referral surgical service to both our patients and referring clinicians from across Perth and Western Australia. You will mentor and guide your colleagues, interns, and support staff while contributing to hospital and departmental activities such as journal clubs, M&M meetings, and initiatives to grow our surgical service.

This is a full-time position, spread over 4 days per week, there are no after-hours or weekend work requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified Small Animal Specialist Surgeon, with Diplomate or equivalent status (ACVS/ECVS/FANZCVS) and experience in orthopaedic, soft tissue, and neurosurgery.

  • Residency-trained candidates are also encouraged to apply.
