North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre (NSVSC) is seeking a Maternity Leave cover for the Veterinary Specialist Services Manager role, to oversee the daily operation of our Specialist Services. The position will report directly to the CEO. The  Specialist Services Manager is responsible for supporting and coordinating the operations of the medical and  surgical units of NSVSC. This role is a liaison between NSVSC, the general public and referring veterinary practices.

The specialist services manager is responsible for oversight and coordination of the medical and surgical team.  It involves day to day coordination and operations of these units.

While every day is different, some recurring tasks involved in this role are:

  • Develop and implement robust financial controls, and work to achieve a set of financial
  • Coordinate Continuing Education & Events
  • Facilitate regular visitation to our referring Veterinarians.
  • Manager the rosters of Specialist Veterinarians and Interns
  • Oversee administration of the Intern Program
  • Marketing of NSVSC to referring Veterinarians and the General Public.
  • Coordinating the diagnostic imaging team

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre was established in 2001 and is co-located with North Shore Veterinary Hospital. NSVH was built in 1935 and is the longest standing Veterinary hospital on the North Shore of Sydney. In 2019 we moved to a brand-new state of the art, purpose-built facility. We are a customer-focused practice striving to provide the best care for our clients and their pets. The hospital has a general practice, Medical and Surgical referral service, Visiting specialist in imaging, ophthalmology, and Exotic animal medicine. We have recently opened our new MRI facility.

Ideally, we require an experienced manager with a Veterinary background to motivate, lead and organize the veterinary team to exceed client expectations, deliver specialized and high-quality veterinary care, and excel in the business throughout this transitory growth period and beyond. The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Diploma or Certificate or above in practice administration, with a focus on marketing
  • Proven and excellent people management skills. Ideally, they would have managed a team of greater than 5
  • Excellent time management & communication skills
  • Strive to provide outstanding patient care
  • Ability to provide organization leadership
  • A capable mentor that supports clinical staff wellbeing
  • Outgoing personality who is comfortable speaking with Veterinary professionals
  • Excellent Mediation skill
