Vetfriends Chatswood are seeking an enthusiastic, client focused Clinical Lead Veterinarian who wishes to practice high quality evidence-based medicine in a fun supportive environment. You will have experience in clinical general practice, with a passion for mentoring your team. This role will involve a mix of consulting, surgery, and management responsibilities for the Primary Care team within the hospital. Our hospital strives to offer the best standards of care by providing personalised services to each of our clients and patients. 

Vetfriends Chatswood is a purpose-built clinic, which opened its doors in 2005. We are a tight knit team consisting of vets and nurses who care about the patients as their own. Our focus is to improve your pets’ quality of life by providing the premium standard of care with latest knowledge and equipment whilst keeping the owners as educated as possible about their pets’ health through effective and personable communication. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that is supported by a team of Vets and Nurses. The role: 

·       Clinical lead veterinarian, seeing primary clinical cases both medical and surgical.

·       Oversee training of the primary care Veterinarian team.

·       Be the line manager for GP veterinarians

·       Assist with the performance appraisal of the GP veterinarians

·       Assist with training of nursing and animal attendants when needed.

·       Assist with the development and implementation of a marketing plan 

Essential qualifications:

  •         Bachelor or Doctor of Veterinary Science or higher
  •         Registration with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board as a Veterinary Surgeon 

Other desired Qualifications include:

  •         Master of Veterinary Science
  •         Experience – at least five years of experience in primary care practice.
