Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to join us for a flexible assignment. You’ll be helping cover hospital nursing duties, surgery, anaesthetic monitoring, client communication and general nurse duties while supporting our vets and permanent nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical & hospital nursing: preparing and monitoring anaesthetics, induction & recovery, monitoring.
Support vets during procedures: diagnostics, ultrasounds / x-ray assistance, dental procedures.
Admission & discharge of surgical / hospitalised patients.
Administer medications, set up IV catheters, blood collection & testing.
Maintaining surgical & treatment areas to infection control standards.
Give post-op care and support hospitalised patients.
Assist with nurse consults / client education as needed.
Requirements
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
At least 2 years post-cert experience preferred.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
Strong communication & organisation skills.
Experience with EzyVet or similar software is a plus.
Ability to adapt quickly and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
