Veterinary nurse- Full time or Part time
Description
A bit about us
Vetwest have been Perth’s trusted vets for over 25 years. We exist today because thousands of WA pet owners have been delighted with the compassion we provide to them and the care we provide to their special companions. Our team is made up of people that truly love animals, and have dedicated their working careers to a high standard of veterinary medicine.
We have purpose-built facilities across Perth reaching to Mandurah, with an extensive range of diagnostic equipment and a commitment to continuous improvement, namely the medical treatment and care of pets, the working conditions of our team, the service we provide to our clients, and promoting responsible pet ownership in the community.
At Vetwest Armadale-Byford, we are a corporate owned clinic with a small clinic heart. On any given day you will be working alongside 1 or 2 vets and 3 other experienced Nurses, creating an environment where everyone can learn new skills and feel supported.
We trust and empower our Nurses, because you play an essential and crucial role in all aspects of patient care, surgery and client service.
What you’ll find here:
- A genuinely supportive team culture — we’ve got each other’s backs
- The chance to work closely with vets who value your input and trust your skills
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to keep growing in your role
- Regular team lunches, and a healthy respect for work-life balance
- A wide variety of cases that will keep you learning and engaged
- Close relationship with local wildlife rescues
What it will be like for you
The key to most great clinics are the staff, and Vet Nurses who are able to act like an animal whisperer are what every pet owner wants. The ability to calm a furry friend that is in distress and keep them calm is one of those skills that reassures not just the patient, but the pet-parents and the Vets alike.
That’s really what we are looking for in this role, and we admit it’s a high bar – but that is what makes our clinic a great place to work. We are pets first, with their family a very close second.
Our nursing team are passionate about a positive learning environment and we try to make sure our nurses are highly skilled, and provides a tonne of support and opportunities to upskill so you have to be ready for that.
Its this attitude we can’t teach, but we are happy to teach other aspects of the role – we do have some requirements for the role though;
- Ideally full time, but we will always speak to great people who want a bit more flexibility in their lives
- Have their Cert IV in Vet Nursing with some experience
- Be able to keep the clinic neat and tidy
- Help our Vets and from time to time help out with some admin tasks
