The Finance Business Partner is a key member of the VetPartners Support Office, responsible for delivering comprehensive financial analysis and insights to drive strategic decision-making. Your proactive approach in drawing out insights and supporting data-driven decisions will be essential in enhancing overall financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare monthly financial reports and conduct detailed variance analyses, including root cause investigations by reviewing the P&L with the GM to identify revenue dips or overspending (e.g., labour costs).
    • Summarise and prepare commentary and insights that clearly outline the financial plan and expectations for the upcoming year.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Lead the budgeting process for assigned regions by collaborating with General Managers to set realistic targets and guide what is achievable from a business perspective.
    • Develop and present budget decks tailored for senior audiences, including GMs and the Executive Director of Operations.
  • Business Partnering & Decision Support
    • Provide actionable insights by engaging with GMs, drawing out key performance drivers, and offering guidance to support data-driven decisions.
    • Assist senior management in making strategic decisions through the preparation of financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Enhancement
    • Work with the Financial Controls Team to improve the accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring timely month-end close and ongoing process reviews.
    • Develop tools and templates that enable self-service analysis for Practice Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Deliver training to non-financial personnel to improve financial literacy and enhance analytical capabilities.
    • Act as the liaison between business operations and the finance function, ensuring that financial outcomes are clearly understood and effectively managed.
Skills, Attributes, and Experience:
  • CA or CPA qualification with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple technology platforms (e.g., Excel, Concur, Navision, Pronto, Power BI) for data consolidation and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable, with additional exposure to multi-site operational models and industries such as veterinary, retail, franchising, or health seen as a plus.
