We’re looking for a Casual ECC Veterinarian to join the emergency and critical care team at North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre (NSVSC), located on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. This role offers flexible shifts with the chance to work in a state-of-the-art hospital alongside a passionate and supportive team.

About Us

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre, established in 2001, is co-located with the historic North Shore Veterinary Hospital (est. 1935). We are a 24/7, 365-day referral and emergency facility, with specialists in Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, and Exotics, supported by a bustling emergency department and progressive GP service.

In 2019, we moved into a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility with:

• Full in-house laboratory equipment

• Comprehensive diagnostic imaging (2 ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, MRI installed in 2022)

• Dedicated ICU with cot bed, oxygen cages, multiple mechanical ventilators, bedside blood gas testing, thromboelastography, Thora-Seal, and a feline blood bank.

This casual role is perfect for veterinarians who:

• Want flexibility while still gaining exposure to ECC cases in a leading specialist hospital

• Are looking to further develop clinical skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment led by our Criticalist, Kerry Doolin

• Thrive working in a collaborative and dynamic team setting

What We’re Looking For

• BVSc, DVM or equivalent, with eligibility for registration in NSW

• Minimum of 3 years’ work experience (ECC experience ideal, but experienced GP vets are also welcome)

• Client-focused, evidence-based, and a team player with a passion for emergency medicine
