About Us

Southern Animal Health is a busy, modern GP hospital positioned between general practice and referral level care. Incorporating Melbourne Bulldog Clinic (MBC), we see an exceptionally varied and interesting caseload - from routine preventative care through to complex medical and surgical cases, including some emergency and brachycephalic patients.

The Role

As Lead Veterinarian, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to our veterinary team
  • Lead by example in high standards of patient care
  • Contribute to case discussions, mentoring and ongoing team development
  • Work alongside our Practice Manager as well as our experienced vets and nurses in a collaborative environment
  • Shape the direction of clinical care while still enjoying hands-on practice
  • Clinical autonomy

  • No routine consults from 2:00–3:00pm daily - dedicated time for lunch, rounds, case discussion, collaboration and decompression

About You

  • BVSc (or equivalent) and eligible for registration in Australia
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a GP veterinarian
  • Confident clinician with a collaborative leadership style
  • Interest in mentoring and developing both yourself and your team
  • Calm, practical and approachable
  • A good sense of humour and appreciation for a supportive workplace culture
