Shepparton Veterinary Clinic is conveniently located close to the Shepparton CBD which offers a large range of shopping and restaurant options.

Our clinic is a large well-equipped practice built on a spacious block with large lawns and heaps of parking.

About the Role:

We are currently looking for Veterinary Nurses to join our awesome team of dedicated and driven Vets and Nurses. This position will report to the Head Nurse. The nurse will be required to care for the animal under treatment with attention to detail and compassion.

The position requires fulfilling the following duties but not limited to:

  • Providing support to our veterinarians and patients in all aspects of veterinary nursing including surgical prep, anaesthetic monitoring, blood draws, IV catheter placement, running in-house blood, and hospital monitoring.
  • Admitting patients for surgical or medical procedures (including emergencies), supporting Vets in clinical examinations, blood collection, catheter and intravenous fluid placement, laboratory testing, and preparing animals for surgical procedures.
  • Assisting Vets to administer anaesthetics and oxygen during operations.
  • Support vets in surgery, conducting anaesthetics and monitoring during surgeries.
  • Supporting vets in treating medical cases and helping in consults.
  • Assisting vets with radiographs & ultrasounds. 
  • Monitoring observations, instrument cleaning and sterilising, and theatre preparation.
  • Feeding, medicating & providing general care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, exotics & wildlife.
  • General reception duties of attending to clients and 
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation around the hospital

Successful candidate qualities:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (completed) or equivalent
  • Experience as a Level 3 or Level 4 veterinary nurse
  • Excellent customer service skills for all client-facing activities
  • Enjoy working in a team environment where mutual respect for all is highly valued
  • A willingness to learn and improve their skills
