Head Ophthalmology Vet Nurse
Description
Perth Animal Eye Hospital is proud to be the only ophthalmology referral hospital in Perth, based in the Southern Suburbs. We have a dedicated team of Specialists, Registrar and Residents operating in our hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment.
Over the past year, the demand for high-quality Specialist-led ophthalmology has grown, and we are now looking for a Head Nurse to join us.
About the role
We believe in giving our nurses opportunities for growth and utilising them to their full potential. Being the only ophthalmology specialist hospital in Perth has meant that we are accomplished at training people in our specialism – so when you join we will be more than happy to help you develop the skills you need to succeed.
You’ll work alongside the Practice Manager, keeping the clinic running smoothly and be the go-to for the nursing team. Your main focus will be in surgery, and the ongoing training and development of our Nursing cohort, being a leader in clinical excellence.
Our clinic is a place where growth is encouraged, and you will be a big part of that – helping to teach and upskill those in the team. Of course, you will get your own opportunities to develop and learn new skills as well.
Unlike a lot of hospitals, we work Monday to Friday between 7:30 and 6:30, and an on-call roster once every 6 weeks. The best part is the on-call roster is for emergencies only as we are not open for routine appointments during the weekend
What we are looking for
- Certificate IV in vet nursing or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within GP or 4 years’ experience within a Specialty Surgery, working in a similar leadership type role
- An amazing ‘can do’, team player attitude.
What we can offer:
- Weekday shifts – no more weekend work other than the on-call roster
- 4 day working week
- An interesting and varied role that is equally rotated
- Highly supportive team environment. What’s working without some fun!
- Salary is above Award and will be dependent on the experience you bring to the role
Apart from being a great place to work and learn, we have a number of other perks from discounts from 80+ retailers, private health cover insurance discounts, paid parental leave and wellbeing support (a full EAP program so you can look after your mental health).
How you can get in touch
If this sounds like a place you could see yourself working, or want a bit more information before you can make that decision, reach out to me on [email protected] – if you have already made your mind up though, apply by sending me your CV.
I know what it is like writing a cover letter, so if you are a bit time poor, don’t feel like you need to write one or spend a long time on it.
