The Veterinary Surgical Center at the LifeCentre is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Specialty Technician Supervisor to our team at our Leesburg location. This role will include 90% of work time on the floor in a nursing role, and 10% off the floor in an admin/supervisory role.

Veterinary Technician Supervisor - Anesthesia and Nursing
Veterinary Surgical Center at the LifeCentre in Leesburg, VA
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Demonstrate solid veterinary clinical skills and be a role model for the team
- Prepare patients for specialty treatments and diagnostics in assigned specialty departments and assist the relevant doctors
- Facilitate direct or indirect training to department staff. Provide routine assessment of skill level and knowledge
- Monitor patients undergoing treatments, diagnostics and post-op recovery.
- Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures
- Provide support and trouble shooting to assigned support staff, including but not limited to shift scheduling, assisting in hiring and ongoing mentoring
- Keep patient families updated with medical and financial status

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of three years of veterinary experience required
- Experience in specialty veterinary medicine and/or small animal anesthesia, as well as certification (CVT, RVT, LVT) is required
- 2-year Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited U.S. Veterinary Technician college is required
- VTS (Anesthesia or Surgery) members are HIGHLY encouraged to apply
- We are willing to consider licensed or certified candidates with less experience who have a strong desire to advance their knowledge and practice of anesthesia
- Positive and energetic individual
- Work as a team player in group settings as well as be able to work individually
- Demonstrate strong communication and fast problem-solving skills in a stressful situation
- Be comfortable with multi-parameter monitoring equipment, inhalant, and injectable anesthesia agents
- Have a passion for improving quality of life for animals
- Excel at multitasking
- Be dependable, trustworthy with strong work ethic and a willingness to continue learning!
