Software Engineer in Test

The Opportunity:

In this role you will architect and develop custom test automation frameworks and quality infrastructure from the ground up. You'll have the opportunity to define the structure, tooling, and practices that ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency across our entire testing ecosystem. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on position where you’ll shape how testing is integrated into our engineering culture and help enable faster, more confident releases.

Our Stack: 

Veson Nautical uses JavaScript, Python, Playwright, and Cucumber BDD to write tools and tests, but QA team members are encouraged to explore and implement the best approaches and tools for the job. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement custom automation frameworks tailored to our product architecture and team workflows.
• Define and set up the foundation for quality infrastructure, including test strategy, structure, and pipelines.
• Build tools and utilities to support developers and QA in writing better, faster, and more reliable tests.
• Define testing strategies that support fast development cycles without compromising quality.
• Champion best practices in software testing, maintainability, and automation architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align test automation with engineering workflows.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience building, designing, and maintaining Automation Test Frameworks
• Solid programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Experience designing test harnesses, frameworks, or tools
• Knowledge of full-stack test automation, including hands-on experience with both UI and API testing frameworks and tools
• Experience with performance testing is a plus but not required.
