Job Description: Sales Data Researcher Overview
 
The Salesforce Data team plays a key role in building a robust database of clients, prospects, and competitors by researching and inputting potential leads into Salesforce. The team gathers information from business cards, delegate lists, industry contact directories, and media articles. This data enables the Business Generation and Sales teams to schedule demonstrations, conduct meetings, and generate targeted call lists, streamlining opportunity management and improving sales efficiency.
 
The Sales Data Researcher follows documented procedures to perform data collection and entry tasks, working under the guidance of a Team Leader to ensure accuracy and consistency.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews, assesses, and acts on information from a variety of sources.
  • Inputs leads into Salesforce.
  • Performs online research to identify key company and individual contact details for the commercial database.
  • Inputs company and individual contact information into Salesforce.
  • Adheres to established procedures to maintain data quality standards.
  • Identifies and corrects discrepancies in the database.
  • Analyzes root causes of discrepancies and updates processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Studies procedural documentation to fully understand task purposes and execution steps.
  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc assignments promptly and in line with established guidelines.
  • Collects and validates data from various sources following defined protocols.
  • Reads and implements procedures documented in Confluence.
  • Inputs data into the database with precision and attention to detail.
  • Cross-checks and validates data from multiple sources for consistency and accuracy.
  • Compares Veson data with other datasets, investigates discrepancies, and takes corrective action.
  • Seeks guidance when uncertain about task handling or procedures.
  • Completes assigned tasks and ad hoc project work accurately and within deadlines as directed by the Line Manager.
Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical, humanities, or IT-related discipline.
Skills
  • Exceptional written English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability, capable of drawing conclusions from incomplete data.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting written procedures and conceptual documentation.
Knowledge/Experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
