Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our US Finance team based in the Boston office. You will be responsible for month-end close activities and reconciliation of general ledger accounts for multiple entities, which include intercompany transactions, recording journal entries, and monthly analysis of Income Statement accounts.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play an important role in managing the Company’s accounting processes, providing valuable insight that will be used to assess the performance of Veson Nautical. You will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and collaborate frequently with other members of the Finance Team as well as other departments in the organization.
Note: This is a hybrid role; the expectation is to be in the Boston office a minimum of 10 days per month. We are flexible on which days for in the office.

 

 
In this role you will:

·         Support the month end close process under U.S. GAAP, including preparing and reviewing relevant journal entries, performing balance sheet account reconciliations Support year-end and interim audit preparation

·         Record accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses

·         Reconcile all intercompany transactions

·         Prepare variance analysis and provide explanations for unusual and/or inconsistent trends

·         Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices globally

·         Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.

·         Participate in various accounting systems automation and enhancement projects to promote more timely and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

·         5+ years of relevant accounting operations and general ledger accounting

·         Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field

·         CPA and/or MBA are preferred but not a requirement

·         Strong experience with various accounting systems, Tipalti, NetSuite and other accounting related systems

·         Experience working in a SaaS/Software business is strongly preferred

·         Working knowledge of ASC 606

·         Experience working with US and international entities

·         Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel

·         Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

·         Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and meet deadlines

·         Strong communication skills and ability to interact with corporate and international management

·         Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment

·         Honesty, strong ethical standards and integrity are a must

·         Strong problem solving and analytical skills, documentation skills, and research & resolution skills
