Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking askilled Model-Based Systems Engineer to support an innovative program. You will research and develop descriptive architecture models of complex kill chains, kill webs, and effects-based solutions that reflect military employment. You will design models that enable gap analysis, highlight new technology applications, and capture key study details to inform additional analysis efforts. You will work as an integral member of a government/contractor team from conceptual design and analysis through integration and testing. You will construct, manage, and conduct mission engineering and analysis study tasks to evaluate legacy architectures and emerging technologies aligned to evolving Joint mission objectives. You will utilize MBSE tools such as Cameo and related architecture modeling software to develop descriptive models, conduct analysis, and produce deliverables that inform solutions to complex operational challenges.

Travel: Less than 10%

Clearance: TS required (SCI eligible)

Required Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in mission engineering, systems engineering, or operational analysis supporting defense or military programs.
  • 3+ years of experience with model-based engineering approaches and modeling languages such as SysML, UAF, or UAFML.
  • 3+ years of experience with MBSE and architecture tools such as Cameo, Magic Draw, SparxEA, or similar.
  • Experience conducting system-of-systems analysis, functional decomposition, and capability gap assessment.
  • Knowledge of Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Experience integrating systems processes and/or software development methodologies, including planning, designing, and analyzing hardware or software-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth analysis of complex problems involving tangible and intangible factors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment and present findings effectively.

Desired Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
  • Experience developing or analyzing operational and mission-level architectures, mission threads, kill chains/kill webs, CONOPs, or system-of-systems architectures in defense environments.
  • Proficiency using Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw to support requirements, design, verification & validation, and lifecycle engineering activities.
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or other relevant UAF/SysML certifications.
  • Programming or scripting expertise (Python, Groovy) for automation and model integration.
  • Experience conducting nodal analysis within Cameo-developed architectures.
  • Understanding of configuration control and database management principles.
  • Demonstrated success implementing innovative solutions to highly complex, multi-disciplinary mission challenges.
