ROLE:                Security Architect                         

REPORTS TO:   VP of Technology             

LOCATION:        Hybrid / Corporate Office in Richmond Hill, Ontario

SALARY:            $130,000 - $160,000; up to 10% discretionary incentive target*   

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an AWS Security Architect with expertise in cloud security architecture to design, implement, and govern secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. This role is ideal for a cloud security architect or AWS security engineer with strong hands-on experience, who can build scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and embed security into platforms, applications, and data systems. You will partner closely with Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to deliver modern cloud security solutions.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Define and maintain AWS cloud security architecture
  • Design and implement cloud and infrastructure security guardrails
  • Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS and cloud security architecture
  • Partner with IT Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to improve security practices
  • Support security governance, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Contribute to security monitoring, detection, and incident response

CANDIDATE PROFILE     

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering
  • 3+ years of experience securing Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
  • Experience designing cloud security architectures in AWS
  • Experience implementing AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Experience using AWS Config and AWS GuardDuty
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
  • Experience implementing secure configuration baselines
  • Knowledge of network security, including virtual private networks (VPN), web application firewall (WAF), and cloud firewalls
  • Experience securing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with container security

  • Experience with AWS Control Tower
  • Experience with AWS landing zones
  • Experience with Amazon Macie
  • Experience securing Kubernetes environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • CISSP certification
