The Role:  We are seeking a Lead Brand Designer to guide our inhouse Brand Design team and ensure our creative output is consistently aligned, intentional, and unmistakably “us.” This role blends hands-on design excellence with studio leadership, operational rigor, and brand stewardship across the company. This position is remote with occasional travel to the Varonis office in Raleigh, NC, and industry tradeshows.

Who You Are:

  • You’re a creative owner with a systems mind. You take fierce ownership over the work; not just how it looks, but how it comes to life. You thrive on structure, clarity, and empowering designers to do their best work through strong process, thoughtful coaching, and strategic alignment.
  • You’re confident presenting creative strategy and work to partners and leadership, and you excel at forging cross functional relationships that make collaboration smooth, efficient, and creatively exciting.
  • When it comes to execution, you bring a refined eye for detail and craft. You love solving complex design challenges and can adapt your approach to a variety of outputs, from brand identity systems to website design, from campaign creative to tradeshow booths and more.

 

The Requirements:

          7+ years’ experience in brand design roles, with at least one year of people management

          Proven track record of delivering high-quality, multi-faceted design projects, with an exceptional public-facing portfolio

          Demonstrated experience managing external creative partners and vendors

          Strong project manager, capable of prioritizing effectively, structuring projects for success, designing creative briefs, meeting tight deadlines, and managing stakeholder expectations

          A passion for taking risks and experimenting with new and unique ways to represent an enterprise brand

          A commitment to operational excellence, design systems, and scalable brand frameworks

          Excellent organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail

          Experience managing and developing designers, with the ability to provide clear coaching, set expectations, and foster a healthy, highperforming creative team

          Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Figma

          Bonus (but not required): Experience with Canva, Descript, After Effects, 3D design, Powerpoint

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Lead the core brand studio, including daytoday workflows, team prioritization, resource planning, and quality control
  • Provide hands-on design direction and feedback, ensuring highcaliber, onbrand creative across all touchpoints
  • Manage brand design initiatives for online and offline marketing (digital/print ads, web and landing pages, tradeshow booths, presentations, illustrations, whitepapers, and more)
  • Art direct external freelancers and agencies for overflow and specialized creative work
  • Partner closely with the Brand & Creative Director to evolve brand strategy, visual direction, and cadence for brand refresh cycles
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and trend research to keep the team informed and forward-looking
  • Drive companywide brand alignment by partnering with Product Design, HR, Education, Events, and other cross-functional teams
  • Serve as an advocate and gatekeeper for brand consistency, clarity, and cohesion across all internal and external creative
