The Role:  We are seeking a Manager of Strategic Support to lead a highimpact support function focused on some of Varonis’ most complex and businesscritical product areas.

This is not a traditional support manager role centered on case volume or queue management. Instead, this role exists to stabilize, scale, and evolve Strategic Support by combining strong people leadership, operational rigor, and sustained crossfunctional execution.

The Location: We are considering candidates who can work by hybrid model, located within physical proximity to Morrisville, NC.

 

 

The Requirements:

  • A People Leader Who Can Stabilize and Scale: You have a track record of leading technical teams through complexity, not just growth. You know how to establish operating discipline, reduce chaos, and raise the floor of execution without burning people out. Your leadership style is direct, collaborative, and grounded in accountability.
  • Technical Credibility: You bring 7–10 years of customerfacing technical experience and 3–5 years of people management experience in enterprise software or SaaS environments. You can engage meaningfully on SaaS architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and identityrelated systems, but you don’t confuse technical depth with leadership effectiveness. You focus on outcomes, patterns, root causes, and leverage.
  • Comfort Applying CrossFunctional Pressure: You are comfortable working across Product, Engineering, and Customerfacing teams—and pushing when necessary. You don’t wait for alignment to appear; you help create it. You can challenge peers constructively, maintain credibility over time, and keep ownership when problems span multiple teams.
  • ExecutionOriented and Resilient: You operate well under sustained pressure. You follow through. You make progress visible. You adapt when conditions change without losing momentum. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred but demonstrated judgment and execution matter more than credentials.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Operational Stability: You will reduce escalation rates, stabilize workload, and establish predictable operating rhythms. The goal is not fewer cases at all costs—it’s consistency, quality, and space for nonreactive work across your team.
  • Scalable Systems: You will oversee onboarding, training, and enablement effectiveness. Documentation and training should materially reduce friction and improve timetoproductivity.
  • Product and Engineering Outcomes: You will act as a sustained pressure point for systemic issues surfaced through Support. This means translating recurring pain into clear, prioritized asks—and staying engaged until outcomes change. Handoffs without followthrough are not success.
  • Customer Impact: You will represent Support in customer and commercial conversations where product behavior or complexity matters. Your job is to ensure support insight informs decisions that affect customer confidence, retention, and scale.
  • People Development: You will hire, develop, and manage Team Leads and senior engineers. This includes setting expectations, giving direct feedback, and addressing performance gaps.

Performance Management: You will define and use metrics that reflect real health escalations, readiness, throughput, and team effectiveness.
