Manager, Market Strategy
What You’ll Do
 
As Manager, Market Strategy, you will leverage your knowledge of the oncology marketplace by tracking emerging news and trends to provide clients with actionable insights and implications to advance their portfolios. You will develop strategies for tumor and portfolio prioritization in highly competitive and dynamic markets. In partnership with your Strategic Services colleagues, you will also be responsible for developing and carrying out initiatives that drive market knowledge and inform business development across Vaniam Group.
 
A Day in the Life
  • Closely monitor any changes in the market landscape (eg, relevant news alerts, clinical trial initiations/updates) and, as appropriate, proactively communicate changes to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting potential business or commercial implications
  • Conduct landscape assessments and synthesize information about a given competitive therapeutic space focusing on existing and emerging market factors
  • Propose innovative solutions to address client needs and translate insights into implications and strategic recommendations for early asset development and pipeline strategies
  • Use your market knowledge and therapeutic area expertise to support internal business needs and business development activities
  • Employ your strong communication skills to foster successful professional interactions with external thought leaders, clients, and our internal teams
  • Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables and support client business objectives within this role
 
What You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 1 year of oncology work experience in pharmaceutical strategic planning/healthcare consulting
  • Good working knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech industries; global experience desired
  • Ability to evaluate and extract relevant data from primary and secondary resources
  • Ability to solve complex challenges and unlock opportunities
  • Ability to quickly develop expertise in new therapeutic areas
  • Self-awareness and a service mindset with the ability to prioritize deep thinking, creativity, and collaboration
  • Ability to share opinions and challenge others in a respectful way
  • Solutions-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and work well in group problem-solving solutions
  • Authentic team player; able to elevate the team before self
  • Ability and willingness to meet tight deadlines, multitask, and work within high-pressure situations
  • Fluency in MS PowerPoint and an ability to prioritize, analyze, and synthesize clinical, financial, and other relevant data into succinct presentations aligned to business objectives
  • Ability to travel within the US and internationally as necessary, based on project, client and organizational needs (<25% travel expected)
What You Might Have, but Isn’t Required
  • Experience in the pharma/biotech industry or at a medical communications agency
  • Experience with drug development, early asset planning, and tumor prioritization
  • Master’s degree, MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD, MSN
  • Competitive intelligence, market research, market access, or HEOR experience

Salary offers are based upon several factors including experience, education, skills, training, demonstrated qualifications, location, and organizational need. The range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000. Salary is one component of the total earnings and rewards package offered.
