Business Development Representative, Business Strategy
What You’ll Do
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective whitespace client opportunities and delivering high‑quality, sales‑ready leads to the Business Development team. This role sits at the top of the revenue funnel and ensures Business Development time is focused on the most viable, high‑value opportunities aligned with Vaniam Group’s strategic priorities in oncology and hematology.
A Day in the Life 
Deliverables
  • Identify, engage, and qualify prospective biopharmaceutical clients aligned with Vaniam Group’s strategic priorities.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound qualification conversations to assess therapeutic area, development stage, urgency, and decision‑maker access.
  • Schedule high‑quality, well‑qualified meetings for Business Development leaders and provide clear pre‑meeting context, including account background, stated needs, and qualification rationale.
  • Execute clear lead handoff processes aligned to defined SLAs and documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date Salesforce records for leads, contacts, and early‑stage opportunities to ensure trusted pipeline visibility.
Client Responsibility
  • Serve as the initial point of engagement for prospective clients, representing Vaniam Group professionally and credibly.
  • Ensure meetings are relevant, actionable, and aligned with prospective client needs and Vaniam Group capabilities.
Internal Responsibility
  • Partner closely with the Business Development team to refine qualification criteria and handoff expectations.
  • Participate in regular alignment check‑ins to review lead quality, conversion outcomes, and pipeline trends.
  • Proactively flag stalled, unresponsive, or misaligned leads to maintain clean and credible pipeline data.
Business Development
  • Support accurate forecasting, prioritization, and resourcing decisions through high‑integrity early‑stage pipeline data.
  • Contribute to maximizing Business Development leader time on the most viable, sales‑ready opportunities.
Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables within this role.
What You Must Have 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort engaging professionally with external prospects.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
What You Might Have, but Isn’t Required
  • Experience in inside sales, sales development, business development, or lead qualifications.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesloft tools.
  • Background or interest in healthcare, life sciences, or biopharma.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, remote environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with pipeline data.
The Team You’ll Work Closest With
You will work closely with the Business Strategy team and collaborate regularly with Curio Science, Scientific Communications, Client Services, and Digital teams to ensure strong alignment between market opportunity and internal capability.
